Safeway to Grandpa–Hey Pops! Got Your ID?

by Petaluma.Spectator

Safeway Has An Age Problem! They can’t tell how old you are! And they need to know…particularly with respect to buying alcohol products. And they are going to find out! Or else! I can’t really envision a scenario where the manager is called to the check out stand each time a customer refuses to have his or her license scanned. That would be absolute chaos in a busy store.

by Petaluma.Spectator

On this Sunday morning, I thought I would post a few light topics in the spirit of the weekend, it being Sunday. Fortunately I found a few but as they were basically photo blogs, I was unable to post them on Petaluma 360.

Regency vs. Petaluma–An Un-Smart Train Wreck In Progress?

by Petaluma.Spectator

To be absolutely clear, I am agnostic on the underlying development of this area except for lingering doubts about how traffic flow is going to be managed. What motivates me to comment now about the project–as opposed to publishing public records concerning the lawsuit– is the fear that the Regency/City dispute is spinning out of control in terms of its impact on the City Budget.

Regency/Target–Lawsuits & Letters!

by Petaluma.Spectator

I am beginning to wonder if the new watchword at City Hall these days is –”Letters, We Get Letters! Lawsuits, We Get Lawsuits.”

A Garden Grows At St. James…Part II

by Petaluma.Spectator

Coordinating the logistics and schedules for the garden is a full-time job. Fortunately, Lois Pearson (I call her the “Dedicated Dynamo”) and the other members of the St. James Community Garden Committee have been more than up to the challenge.

A Garden Grows At St. James…Part I

by Petaluma.Spectator

Those who have followed my past efforts on this site know that I used to be able to spot a tag a mile away or to identify an abaondoned shopping cart within 50 yards. Readers also know that I evolved from such urban topics to covering the positive community aspects of low water landscaping and community gardens.
